A TRIBUTE  TO BON SCOTT, BRIAN JOHNSON, ANGUS YOUNG AND THE MUSIC OF AC/DC

A BRIEF HISTORY
LIVE/WIRE were formed in Hull in 1997.   By 1999 the band had an excellent reputation around Yorkshire and the East Midlands for their shows.  Live/Wire continued to play and reach further afield,

The New Years Eve 2000 gig at The Hogsbreath, Hull marked the new beginning for Live/Wire as Gary put on the schoolboy's uniform and performed the strip for the first time. The story from then on has been one of hectic touring over the last five years as the bands reputation as a live act and tribute to AC/DC has seen them in demand all over the U.K and beyond.

2001 saw the band support Wishbone Ash and U.F.O. at the Rock and Blues festival at Donnington and they also performed sold out shows on a tour of the West Country. LIVE/WIRE also performed live on Scottish radio as headlining band at the Paisley festival near Glasgow, and performed for an army of 200 German AC/DC fans as a warm up the night before THE Milton Keynes AC/DC gig in June of that year.

2002 saw the band hit the road on the "March or Die" tour clocking up nearly a hundred shows during the calendar year.  Live/Wire also spent most of June in Gilberdyke studios near Hull after being asked to record an album of AC/DC classics, copies of which are available at shows.

2003 was a great year as  "Angaz" and the3 gang continued to galvanise audiences with their fun packed performances. The band, now in heavy demand started to play Theatres and Arts centres and were also a regular attraction at many of the U.K.'s Top Bike Rally's.

2004 carried on where 2003 left off playing many new venues and cementing their reputation as an Act who entertained audiences but who were obviously enjoying the show themselves.

Livewire had already been commissioned to record a tribute album of ac/dc tracks, and have had tracks from that album placed on compilation albums available on worldwide release, and in spring 2004 work got underway to record a second album of AC/DC classics which is expected to be released in mid 2005.

2005  At the start of the year John Belford joined the band as "Bon" and  Rhythm Guitarist Mark "Chuckie" Bridge joined as "Mal". LIVE/WIRE are now a
SIX MAN TRIBUTE to both eras of AC/DC
able to recreate the look and sound of either Bon  or Brian  on Vocals, with Angaz as the frenzied schoolboy duckwalking and headbanging his way through all the classics old and new.

On February 19th 2005 it was 25 years since AC/DC and the World lost Bon Scott when he fell asleep and choked in the back of a car after drinking in London with friends.  To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the loss of the great singer LIVE/WIRE played a set throughout February 2005 and on through the year by popular demand based on the 1979 PARIS "Let there be rock" concert dedicated to Bon on Video in 1980.

moving into 2006 The band wish to thank AC/DC fans all over the UK for their continued support, as LIVE/WIRE continue to celebrate and pay tribute to the music and power of AC/DC.
